Who is responsible for your information

First Followers is operated by Devon Allary (referred to here as First Followers, we, us, or our). Devon Allary is responsible for the personal information described in this notice and is the person to contact with privacy questions, requests, or complaints.

What this notice covers

This notice applies to firstfollowers.app, its articles and resources, and the illustrated watch pages, and records from the earlier founding-family waitlist. The released family app has its own Privacy Policy and Direct Parent Notice, linked above.

Information we collect

For current website visits, we record page views, clicks on App Store download links, and uses of the Bible planner's print and download actions, along with the page path, a random page-view identifier, and campaign parameters when present. The planner's child names or nicknames, ages, days, time, reading choices, passages you enter, and assignment completion choices stay in the browser and are not included in these events. For recognized search engines, we may record a coarse source such as Google and the label organic search. We do not send the referring URL, its search query, or its path in these website events. The identifier stays in page memory and is not stored in a cookie or browser storage.

The free planner can save a copy in this browser only when you choose “Save on this device.” That copy includes the plan’s child names or nicknames, age groups, selected readings, schedule and checklist. We do not receive it. You can remove it with “Clear saved copy.” Downloaded plan files stay wherever you save them; restoring a file reads it in your browser and does not upload it to us. On a shared device, anyone using the same browser profile may be able to load its saved plan.

For earlier adult founding-family waitlist signups, the records may include:

• the parent or guardian's email address;
• if the adult chooses to answer optional questions after joining, a broad child age range, the family's country or region, the product benefit that interests them most, and possible interest in testing;
• confirmation that the person signing up is a parent or guardian aged 18 or older;
• the adult's email consent and acceptance of our terms, including the policy versions and timestamps associated with the signup; and
• campaign details in the page link, the landing-page message shown, and the referring page, if those details are available when the form is submitted; and
• anonymous funnel events such as a landing-page view, starting the email field, submitting the form, a successful or failed signup, and opening or submitting the optional questions. These events use a random page-view identifier and do not include the email address.

Our hosting and form infrastructure also processes ordinary technical information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as IP address, browser and device information, request headers, timestamps, and diagnostic or security logs.

The adult-facing free planner asks for a name or nickname and broad age group to organize local assignments. A nickname is enough. These entries are kept in the browser and are not submitted to us. We do not ask for child email addresses, exact birth dates or lesson answers on the website. Please do not include a child’s identifying or private information in an email or contact response.

Why we use it

We use the information described above to:

• maintain the waitlist and respond to questions;
• send development updates, research invitations, and early-access messages the adult agreed to receive;
• understand which needs, campaigns, and landing-page messages bring interested families to First Followers;
• plan family research and product testing without collecting identifying information about children; and
• operate, troubleshoot, secure, and comply with legal obligations related to the website.

Who processes it

We use Google Cloud and Firebase to host this website, receive form submissions, store earlier waitlist records and website events in Firestore, and keep operational and security logs. These providers process information on our behalf under their applicable terms and data protection commitments. We may also disclose information if required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect a person, prevent abuse, or secure the service.

We do not sell waitlist information. We do not currently place third-party advertising trackers on the site or use waitlist information for behavioural advertising.

Where information is processed

The waitlist is received by a Google Cloud function in the United States and stored in a United States Firestore multi-region. Google and its authorized subprocessors may process related technical and support information in other locations. This means information may be subject to the laws of jurisdictions outside Quebec and Canada and may be accessible to their courts or authorities where legally required.

How long we keep it

We keep an active waitlist record while we are developing First Followers and the person remains interested. We delete or de-identify inactive waitlist records within 24 months of the person's last interaction, unless the person asks us to delete the record sooner or we must keep specific information for a legal reason. After an unsubscribe or withdrawal request, we may retain a minimal suppression record so we can honour the request and avoid sending further marketing email.

Technical and security logs are retained according to the settings and operational needs of the Google Cloud and Firebase services we use, then deleted or overwritten.

Your choices and rights

You may unsubscribe through the link in a First Followers email. You may also email devonallary1@gmail.com to withdraw email consent, ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction or deletion, or make a privacy complaint. We may need to verify your identity before completing an access, correction, or deletion request. Some rights may be subject to exceptions required or permitted by law.

Cookies and analytics

We do not currently use advertising cookies or a third-party analytics service. Our own site records page views, App Store link clicks, and planner print or download actions with campaign information or a coarse search source when available. Events contain the page path and a random page-view identifier, not an email address, a child profile, or a referring search query. We exclude the private device-connection route and family-app legal pages from these marketing events. Earlier waitlist records may contain the campaign and referring-page information described above. We will update this notice before adding materially different tracking or using information for a new purpose.

Security

We use administrative and technical safeguards intended to limit access, protect information in transit, and reduce unauthorized use. No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If we identify a breach, we will assess it and provide notices required by applicable law.

Children

The parent guides are written for adults, and the illustrated films are intended for parents to watch with children. The free planner is also for adults; its local child entries do not create app accounts or server profiles. Children are not asked to submit answers, drawings, names or contact information to us. Earlier waitlist signups were restricted to parents or guardians aged 18 or older. If you believe a child submitted personal information here, contact us so we can investigate and delete it when appropriate.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the website and waitlist change. The current version and date will remain posted here. If a change would materially alter how we use previously collected information, we will provide appropriate notice and seek consent where required.
