Who is responsible for your information

First Followers is operated by Devon Allary (referred to here as First Followers, we, us, or our). Devon Allary is responsible for the personal information described in this notice and is the person to contact with privacy questions, requests, or complaints.

What this notice covers

This notice applies to firstfollowers.app, its articles and resources, and the founding-family waitlist. First Followers is still in development, and this notice does not govern a child-facing app or family test build. Before we invite children to use a test or released product, we will provide a separate, product-specific notice and obtain any parent or guardian consent that is required.

Information we collect

When an adult joins the founding-family waitlist, we collect:

• the parent or guardian's email address;
• a broad child age range and the family's country or region;
• the product benefit that interests the adult most and optional interest in testing;
• confirmation that the person signing up is a parent or guardian aged 18 or older;
• the adult's email consent and acceptance of our terms, including the policy versions and timestamps associated with the signup; and
• campaign details in the page link, the landing-page message shown, and the referring page, if those details are available when the form is submitted.

Our hosting and form infrastructure also processes ordinary technical information needed to deliver and secure the site, such as IP address, browser and device information, request headers, timestamps, and diagnostic or security logs.

We do not ask for child names, child email addresses, exact birth dates, lesson answers, or other child content on this website. Please do not submit personal information about a child in an email or form response.

Why we use it

We use the information described above to:

• maintain the waitlist and respond to questions;
• send development updates, research invitations, and early-access messages the adult agreed to receive;
• understand which needs, campaigns, and landing-page messages bring interested families to First Followers;
• plan family research and product testing without collecting identifying information about children; and
• operate, troubleshoot, secure, and comply with legal obligations related to the website.

Who processes it

We use Google Cloud and Firebase to host this website, receive form submissions, store waitlist records in Firestore, and keep operational and security logs. These providers process information on our behalf under their applicable terms and data protection commitments. We may also disclose information if required by law or when reasonably necessary to protect a person, prevent abuse, or secure the service.

We do not sell waitlist information. We do not currently place third-party advertising trackers on the site or use waitlist information for behavioural advertising.

Where information is processed

The waitlist is received by a Google Cloud function in the United States and stored in a United States Firestore multi-region. Google and its authorized subprocessors may process related technical and support information in other locations. This means information may be subject to the laws of jurisdictions outside Quebec and Canada and may be accessible to their courts or authorities where legally required.

How long we keep it

We keep an active waitlist record while we are developing First Followers and the person remains interested. We delete or de-identify inactive waitlist records within 24 months of the person's last interaction, unless the person asks us to delete the record sooner or we must keep specific information for a legal reason. After an unsubscribe or withdrawal request, we may retain a minimal suppression record so we can honour the request and avoid sending further marketing email.

Technical and security logs are retained according to the settings and operational needs of the Google Cloud and Firebase services we use, then deleted or overwritten.

Your choices and rights

You may unsubscribe through the link in a First Followers email. You may also email devonallary1@gmail.com to withdraw email consent, ask what personal information we hold about you, request a correction or deletion, or make a privacy complaint. We may need to verify your identity before completing an access, correction, or deletion request. Some rights may be subject to exceptions required or permitted by law.

Cookies and analytics

We do not currently use advertising cookies or a third-party analytics service. If you submit the waitlist form, we record campaign parameters in the page URL and the referring page, when available, to understand how the signup arrived. We will update this notice before adding materially different tracking or using information for a new purpose.

Security

We use administrative and technical safeguards intended to limit access, protect information in transit, and reduce unauthorized use. No internet service or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. If we identify a breach, we will assess it and provide notices required by applicable law.

Children

The website and waitlist are for adults aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children through this website. If you believe a child submitted personal information here, contact us so we can investigate and delete it when appropriate.

Changes to this notice

We may update this notice as the website and waitlist change. The current version and date will remain posted here. If a change would materially alter how we use previously collected information, we will provide appropriate notice and seek consent where required.
